Commercial Floor Cleaning Tips

Today, the floor cleaning problem for many businesses is how to clean and restore worn and dingy floors and grout. Is the first impression you want to make with your business’, dirty and unappealing tiles and grout?

Probably not!

Dirt from the environment collects everywhere such as feet, cars, air and gets tracked into offices dozens of times a day. The little dumps, spills, and heel marks of daily activities accumulate with startling speed.

And unless an office has only one kind of surface throughout, the facility maintenance department will have to cater and deal with cleaning different kinds of hard-surface floors, tables, and desks on a daily basis. The first step toward efficient Office surface cleaning is to know what the surface is made of. The cleaning method that works for one surface may ruin another.

The following article provides tips and guidelines for cleaning some type of hard-surface floor.

Asphalt Tile Floors

Asphalt Floor Tile is manufactured with a mixture of fillers, coloring and synthetic fibers using asphalt to bind the components together. Asphalt Floor tile is the true pioneers of the resilient tile field, and are the most economical of the different flooring types.

Asphalt tile floor won’t retain the footprints when you replace an office fitting with a new one. Although asphalt is highly resilient. but grease, oil, solvents (such as kerosene, gasoline, naphtha, and turpentine), harsh cleaning preparations, strong soaps, and scouring can damage the surface.

Cleaning an asphalt surface, for a better result comes from professionals who will take time to damp-mop on asphalt floor every week, and will not have to wash it and apply polish as often as if you allow dirt to build up.
they will make sure that the cleaner used can withstand damp-mopping. Professional floor cleaning experts don’t flood the floor with water; because excess water can seep into the seams and loosen adhesives that hold down the tiles.

Brick Floors

Caring for a porous brick floor is a lot of work no matter what you do. If you use a solvent-base wax on the floor, you have to seal it. If you use a water-based polish, you’ll occasionally have to strip the wax buildup.

The best way to care for any brick floor is to keep it sealed and waxed. You’ll need to use a commercial sealer for brick; neither varnish nor lacquer will do. Here’s what else you need to know about treating a brick floor:
Damp-mopping after vacuuming will prevent dirt from building up on the brick floor. Any business handling such a floor should have a time saver method of cleaning.
The use of a solvent-based wax can be encouraged so that you don’t have to strip the floor.
We do not clean the brick floor with acids, strong soaps, or abrasives substances.

Ceramic Tile Floors

Glazed (shiny) ceramic tile is virtually stainproof, but unglazed (matte) ceramic tile is porous and must be sealed to resist stains. A new unglazed ceramic-tile floor needs to be sealed with a commercial sealer and a water-based wax. Both types of tile are installed with grout. Some advice for tending to any ceramic tile:
Never use harsh abrasive cleaners that might scratch the glaze.
Do not clean unglazed ceramic tiles with acids, strong soaps, or abrasives.
Damp-mop ceramic tile with an all-purpose cleaner. Dry the floor with a soft cloth to avoid streaks.
Sparkle ceramic tile walls and countertops by rubbing the tile with car wax.

Concrete Floors

Concrete floors are known for their durability as well as their easy upkeep. Whether you chose to have concrete floors at your business for their versatility and style or you own a shop or a warehouse that requires them, there’s no question that this type of flooring is appealing for many business owners. But just because concrete floors are fairly durable and have low maintenance doesn’t mean that they don’t need to be professionally deep cleaned just as hardwood floors and carpets do.

Concrete is highly absorbent and if you work with a lot of chemicals, these—as well as dirt, oil, dust, and other airborne pathogens—can absorb into the floors and cause the air in your business to be potentially hazardous for you and your employees. We know that the health and safety of your employees are of utmost importance to you, which is why we offer commercial concrete floor cleaning services that will get rid of any unsightly stains and improve the air quality inside your building.
